Privacy Policy This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application ("the App") that facilitates parent-to-parent activities. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information:

When you sign up for an account, we collect your email address, password, and phone number. Account management, including password handling, is handled by Amazon Cognito, a secure user authentication service. Your phone number is used to help identify individuals within your network and improve your user experience. Please note, we will only contact you via your phone number for the purpose of verifying it.

1.2 Google Calendar Sign-In Credentials:

When you use your Google Calendar sign-in credentials to integrate with our App, this information is strictly kept on the client side and not shared with the Koy backend. We do not store or have access to your Google Calendar sign-in credentials in our backend servers. Koy's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not share your Google Calendar data with any third parties as we never send your Google calendar data to our backend or any other backend. We will explicitly request your consent if we ever decide to share your Google calendar data with our backend or any third party.

1.3 User Profile Information:

We collect information that you provide in your user profile, including your name, contact information, and other optional details you choose to provide. Purpose of collecting phone numbers Koy is a real-time family coordination app. A verified phone number is the user’s primary identity key, similar to WhatsApp or Signal. We use it for: • Account creation & secure sign-in – an SMS one-time code (OTP) is required. • Network discovery & invitations – parents find each other by matching hashed phone numbers in their Contacts. Without a phone number, they cannot locate teammates, create carpools, or share schedules. Data minimization & privacy safeguards • Numbers are stored encrypted at rest, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising. • Users can delete their number (and account) at any time from Settings › Privacy › Delete Account.

1.4 Children's Information:

As an app focused on child activities, we may collect and store information about your children, such as their names, ages, favorite foods, allergies, bedtime routines, and other relevant details that you voluntarily provide. This information is securely stored in our AWS DynamoDB database.

1.5 Address Information:

To facilitate driving directions and connect parents in the same geographical area, we collect and store household addresses. Address information is only shared with other parents if you choose to form a connection with them.

Use of Information

2.1 Providing Services:

We use the information we collect to facilitate parent-to-parent activities, such as arranging playdates, school pickup, sports practices/games, connecting you with other parents, and other relevant services requested by users.

2.2 Communication:

We may use your email address to send you important notifications, updates about the App, and information related to the services we offer. You can opt-out of non-essential communications.

2.3 Aggregated Data:

We may analyze and aggregate data to improve our services, enhance user experience, and for research and statistical purposes. This aggregated data does not personally identify individuals and cannot be linked back to you.

Sharing of Information

3.1 Parent Connections:

Your personal information, including your contact information (physical address, email, phone) and children's names, will only be shared with other parents if you choose to connect with them through the App.

3.2 Your children's information:

Your children's information (such as their favorite foods, disliked foods, restrictions and allergies, bedtime routines) will be shared with everyone you invite as a guardian for your household. They will only be shared with guardians of other households when they are assigned to an activity involving your children.

3.3 Service Providers:

We may engage trusted third-party service providers to assist us in delivering and improving our services. These service providers have access to your personal information only to the extent necessary to perform the services on our behalf and are obligated to maintain its confidentiality.

3.4 Legal Compliance:

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request, such as a court order or government investigation.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
